Bouclé is a textured fabric that has gained popularity in the world of sofas due to its distinctive appearance and comfort. We craft our boucle sofas using a quality blend of wool, cotton, & polyester, which are tightly looped or curled, creating its unique, tactile texture.

Once the weaving is complete, the fabric undergoes a crucial brushing treatment. This step is where the magic happens – it enhances the looped texture and fluffiness of the fabric, creating the distinctive, soft, and cosy feel that people love about bouclé.  

As a final step, our bouclé upholstery receives a protective finish that not only enhances its tactile feel but also makes it more resistant to minor spills and thus easier to clean. High Density Foam Cushioning

When it comes to sofas, comfort reigns supreme. High-density foam plays a crucial role in achieving that perfect balance between plushness and support, ensuring hours of comfortable seating.

Crafting high-density foam for sofas involves an extensive process designed to achieve a densely packed yet weight-absorbing structure. High-quality polyurethane with a specific chemical composition is used as the base material. The PU is mixed with additives and undergoes a controlled chemical reaction, causing it to expand and solidify. Precise temperature and pressure control are crucial for achieving the desired density. The cured foam is carefully cooled and stabilised to ensure it retains its shape and density.

Unlike lower-density foams, high-density options resist flattening and maintain their shape over time. This ensures your sofa remains comfortable and supportive throughout its lifespan. High-density foam provides better support for your body, distributing weight evenly and minimising pressure points. This translates to reduced fatigue and increased comfort, even during extended lounging sessions.

S-Sprung Seating & Supportive Webbing

Sinuous springs are made of high-tensile steel wire formed into a continuous zigzag ("S") shape. The ends of the springs are secured to the sofa frame using metal clips, hooks, or specialised fasteners designed for high holding power and minimal frame damage. 

Multiple S-springs are arranged in parallel rows across the frame, with a consistent spacing between each spring. This spacing plays a role in the overall firmness and flexibility of the system. Sinuous springs are known for their long lifespan and ability to spring back to their original shape, due to their steel construction which can withstand heavy use and significant weight.  

The "S" shape of the springs allows them to flex and distribute weight evenly across the frame. They provide enough firmness to prevent the user from sinking too deeply, while still allowing for some give and responsiveness for a comfortable seating experience. The foam layer placed on top of the S-spring system adds cushioning and pressure point relief.

The back of this sofa features a different support system. Supportive webbing, crafted from durable nylon is precisely woven on specialised looms, ensuring consistent strength and flexibility throughout the material. The woven webbing is carefully stretched across the back frame, creating a firm and evenly distributed foundation. This ensures the backrest maintains its shape and provides sufficient support for you & your guests.

Care guide

• General Cleaning: Avoid using harsh chemicals or detergents, as they can damage the fabric and cause fading. Spot cleaning is recommended for most stains. Avoid overall washing, as it can shrink or distort the fabric.
• Spot Cleaning: Address spills promptly by blotting the affected area with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid rubbing, as it can push the spill deeper into the fabric. For liquid spills, use a paper towel to soak up as much as possible before blotting.
• Gentle touch: Avoid using harsh brushes or abrasive cleaning tools, as they can damage the bouclé fibres. 
• Use Mild Cleaning Agents: Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or strong cleaning agents on your bouclé sofa to prevent fabric damage, colour fading, and texture alteration. Opt for gentle, water-based cleaning solutions and always test in a small, inconspicuous area before application to ensure compatibility.
• Occasional Vacuuming: Vacuum your bouclé sofa occasionally to help remove deeper dirt, dust mites and pet hair that can accumulate in the fabric. Use the lowest suction setting on your vacuum cleaner & always vacuum in the direction of the nap to avoid damaging the fibres and pay extra attention to the seams and crevices where dirt can accumulate.

Sizing & Buying Guide

Length & Width: Measure the longest and widest areas where you plan to place the sofa. Also Measure the doorways and hallways the sofa needs to pass through during delivery.

Account for Traffic Flow: Imagine walking through your living space. Ensure the chosen sofa allows comfortable movement without feeling cramped. As a general rule of thumb, aim for 45-60cm of clearance around the sofa for easy passage and space for other furniture such as a dining table set, side table or coffee table.

Consider Your Room Size & Shape:

• Rectangular Living Room: Sectional sofas or a combination of sofa and loveseat work well. Place the sofa along the longest wall for optimal use of space. 
• Square Living Room: A standard sofa or multiple loveseats are both good choices. Place the sofa centrally against the wall to create balance. You can also go for an L-shaped sofa or a modular sofa set to fill up the room and increase the seating. 
• L-Shaped Living Room: Opt for a modular sofa set that follows the shape of the room. Place the sofa in the corner for a cosy arrangement.
