Once fired, the ceramic base is ground and polished to achieve a smooth and level surface. This step ensures the surface is prepared for the lacquer application. Multiple layers of a high-gloss lacquer are applied to the ceramic base. Each layer is allowed to dry thoroughly before applying the next.
