Natural reclaimed wood, particularly from coastal areas, adds a unique touch of history & character to furniture. These salvaged timbers, often boasting a distinctive patina developed through years of exposure to sun, salt & wind, become stunning coffee tables with a story to tell.

Our reclaimed wood coffee tables begin their journey with hand-selected coastal wood collected from sources such as old boats, piers or seaside buildings, which then undergoes careful processing to remove impurities & excess moisture. Depending on the condition, we may apply stabilisation treatments like epoxy resin injections or controlled drying techniques to prevent cracking or warping. However, harsh chemicals or abrasive treatments are always avoided to maintain the natural wood grain & patina. 

After cleaning and treatment, the wood is cut into planks using specialised equipment. These individual planks are then joined together using techniques like finger jointing or edge glueing to create the desired tabletop size. 

Finally, a protective finish is meticulously applied to preserve the wood's rich history, enhancing its appeal and offering resistance to stains, scratches, and daily wear. The result is a durable and visually appealing coffee table that seamlessly combines coastal allure with timeless aesthetics.

• Minor Spills: Address spills and stains promptly. Blot up liquids with a clean, absorbent cloth. Never use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or furniture polish, as they can damage the finish and patina.
• Stubborn Stains: Use a gentle, natural cleaning solution like a mixture of warm water and a few drops of mild dish soap. Apply the solution to a damp cloth, wring it out well to avoid excess moisture, and wipe down the affected area. Dry thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth.

Reclaimed Metal Frame

Giving new life to discarded materials is not only sustainable but also creates unique and characterful pieces like the black reclaimed metal frame used to create this coffee table. Not all reclaimed metal is equal, each piece is carefully inspected for its structural integrity, natural markings & textures to ensure it's suitable for furniture. Selected metal pieces undergo a thorough cleaning process to remove dirt, debris, and any surface contaminants. 

Depending on the design, the metal is then cut and shaped using techniques such as oxygen-fuel cutting or plasma cutting. To achieve the black finish, a primer is applied to ensure proper adhesion of the lacquer and provide a smooth base coat. Multiple coats of high-quality black lacquer are applied, allowing for drying time between each coat. The finished surface may be lightly sanded and buffed to achieve a smooth, even finish with the desired level of sheen.

Sizing Guide

Distance from Seating: Leave approximately 45-60cm between the coffee table and the seating to ensure an unrestricted flow within the living room and ample space for comfortable movement. 

Measure Your Sofa: Aim for a coffee table that’s roughly two-thirds the length of your sofa for a balanced and proportional look. 

Height: Aim for a coffee table that sits within 5-10cm of your sofa's seat height. This ensures a comfortable reaching distance for items on the table, making it convenient for activities such as grabbing a magazine or setting down a cup.

Factor in Other Furniture: Leave a distance of approximately 75cm between the coffee table and other pieces of furniture, such as TVs or armchairs to prevent a cluttered feel.
