Our solid hardwood console tables, renowned for their timeless elegance and enduring strength, undergo a meticulous manufacturing process. The journey begins with the selection of premium oak for its strength, grain patterns, and distinctive character. 

The chosen logs undergo kiln drying, a controlled process using heat and airflow to reduce moisture content to a specific level. This crucial step prevents warping, cracking, and ensures structure integrity over time. 

Seasoned logs are then cut into planks of desired thickness using band saws. Depending on the design, we may use various joinery techniques like mortise & tenon joints, dowel joints or dovetail joints to assemble different individual components.

To enhance the natural beauty of the oak, we apply eco-friendly stains or oils to highlight the wood's grain patterns and rich tones. Finally, a layer of protective sealant is applied to safeguard the wood from everyday wear and tear, moisture, and stains, ensuring the furniture's longevity.

Care Guide

• Dust Regularly: Use a soft, dry cloth to regularly dust the surface of your oak wood furniture, preventing the buildup of dirt and debris.
• Spills and Stains: Address spills and stains promptly. Blot up any liquids with a clean, absorbent cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
• Cleaning Solution: For occasional deeper cleaning, use a mild soap solution (like a few drops of dish soap in warm water). Apply the solution to a damp cloth, wring it out well to avoid excess moisture, and wipe down the table surface. Dry thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth.
• Protect from Heat and Moisture: While your oak console table boasts a clear protective lacquer, it's still wise to use coasters for glasses and hot mugs to minimise the risk of heat damage and water rings. This simple practice helps preserve the table's pristine surface for years to come.

Black Metal Frame

Giving new life to discarded materials is not only sustainable but also creates unique and characterful pieces like the base of this console table. Not all reclaimed metal is equal, each piece is carefully inspected for its structural integrity, natural markings & textures to ensure it's suitable for furniture. Selected metal pieces undergo a thorough cleaning process to remove dirt, debris, and any surface contaminants. 

Depending on the design, the metal is then cut and shaped using techniques such as oxygen-fuel cutting or plasma cutting. To achieve the black finish, a primer is applied to ensure proper adhesion of the lacquer and provide a smooth base coat. Multiple coats of high-quality black lacquer are applied, allowing for drying time between each coat. The finished surface may be lightly sanded and buffed to achieve a smooth, even finish with the desired level of sheen.

Sizing Guide

Length: Measure the length of the wall or area where the console table will be placed. Ideally, your table should be about two-thirds of the wall's length or it should leave roughly 30cm on either side of the wall to achieve a balanced look without the table appearing lost or cramped.

Width: Measure the width of the hallway. Ensure at least 30-45 cm of clearance between your chosen table and any opposite walls or furniture. This allows for comfortable passage and prevents a crowded feel.

Consider Its Function:

• Entryway Console: If the console is intended to be a hallway table for holding keys, mail, or small items, opting for a narrower depth (30-40cm) is beneficial to ensure a practical and uncluttered entrance space.
• Living Room Console: In the living room, where the console is often a focal point for decorative items or cherished photos, consider a longer (100-120cm) and taller table. This provides an expansive surface for creating artful displays, allowing you to showcase your personal style.
• Behind the Sofa: Placing a console table behind the sofa can be a strategic design choice. To achieve a harmonious look, opt for a shorter table that complements the height of the sofa. The console table's width should be about two-thirds the length of your sofa to ensure the table doesn't block the view or disrupt the visual continuity in the room. 
• In the Bedroom: Choose a height that sits slightly above your bed frame for a cohesive look, and ensure the length of the table doesn't exceed the bed's width to maintain easy access and prevent a congested feel.
