Oak Veneered Dining Chair

Crafting oak veneer dining chairs involves a multi-step process, starting with the creation of the engineered wood core. We primarily utilise multi-plywood, renowned for its strength and durability, as it excels in creating robust legs and frames. Its multi-layered construction ensures structural integrity.

Precision cutting and shaping techniques are then used to sculpt the desired chair structure, ensuring accurate dimensions and consistent form. Depending on the chair design, we may use various joinery techniques like mortise & tenon joints, dowel joints or dovetail joints to assemble different individual components. 

Subsequently, a carefully crafted oak veneer, a thin layer of authentic oak, is applied to the engineered wood core, imbuing it with the warmth and beauty of natural wood. Thorough sanding follows to create a smooth and refined surface on the chair legs. As a finishing touch, multiple thin coats of high-quality lacquer are applied, each allowed to dry and sanded before the next. This meticulous process ensures a flawless, durable finish.

White Lacquer Finish

To optimise adhesion for the lacquer finish, a primer is first applied. Following this, multiple layers of lacquer are sprayed onto the chair leg, with drying time in-between coats to ensure consistent application and an even finish. This process is repeated several times to build up the desired level of sheen. Subject to the desired look, we may use open-grain lacquers to highlight the wood grain, or closed-grain lacquers offer a smoother finish.

Care guide

• Dust Regularly: Use a soft, dry cloth to regularly dust the surface of your oak wood chairs, preventing the buildup of dirt and debris.
• Spills and Stains: Address spills and stains promptly. Blot up any liquids with a clean, absorbent cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
• Cleaning Solution: For occasional deeper cleaning, use a mild soap solution (like a few drops of dish soap in warm water). Apply the solution to a damp cloth, wring it out well to avoid excess moisture, and wipe down the chair surface. Dry thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth.
• Drying: Ensure the wood dries completely after cleaning to prevent water stains or warping. Never leave a damp cloth on the chairs.

Sizing Guide

Chair Spacing: Maintain a space of at least 15cm between dining chairs to prevent overcrowding. Adequate spacing allows diners to move in and out of their seats easily, promoting a more enjoyable and functional dining experience. Consider the overall dimensions of the dining area when determining the optimal chair spacing.

Space to Move: Leave around 60cm between the chair back and your wall. This allows you and your guests to sit comfortably and manoeuvre without feeling cramped. Proper proximity ensures a seamless dining experience, allowing people to access their seats with ease.

Number of Chairs: Assess the available space around the dining table to determine the practical number of chairs that can comfortably fit. Consider the table's size, shape, and room dimensions to ensure adequate spacing between chairs for both visual appeal and ease of movement. Below is a general guide, but these are flexible dependent on the chair size and desired level of comfort:
